Pet Sitting
We visit in your home to care for your cat, dog, or other pet. Your pet’s routine and environment will stay the same while you are away. This is comforting and soothing for them, and eases your guilty feelings of leaving them behind alone.
The benefits are many:
- minimizing exposure to diseases;
- avoiding trauma of strange places and smells;
- lessening boredom and stress;
- maintaining regular routines and diet;
- avoiding possibility of aggressive interactions;
- knowing exactly who is taking care of your pet gives you peace of mind – it will always be Sherry unless we introduce you to a substitute sitter ahead of time;
- receiving feedback and communication.
We’ve been known to bring our laser pointer to get a lazy kitty off the couch for a little aerobic exercise, and to hide treats in various places to afford a scavenger hunt in between our visits.
We will also do some chores around your house that you would do if you were home, and that, if left undone, convey to burglars that the family is gone:
- Bringing in fliers, packages, mail, newspapers;
- Varying curtains, lights and shades;
- Taking trash cans to the curb and bringing them back on trash day;
About our pet sits …
- Pet Sits average 20 to 30 minutes
- For very shy kitties, we simply linger quietly either reading or talking on our phone (so they get used to our voice) – all but the most determined scaredy cats come around eventually and make friends with Sherry.
- We are available by phone or email to answer questions, or just provide reassurance that all is well at your house, while you are away.
Plants in containers, gardens, grass, and landscapes that get thirsty while you are gone can also be watered for an additional charge.
